Impossibly punishing
Inspired by 'Foddian' games like Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy and Jump King, Goodnight MiMi is a floaty puzzle launching game where one wrong move makes you lose a lot of progress. Levels are designed to be extremely punishing for even the smallest mistakes.
This was my first ever game jam game, created over 10 days as part of a team for the Ludwig Jam 2021, where I was the sole programmer and team leader. It was also the first game I made as part of a team, ever. I learned a tonne about team coordination and management, working with members of different disciplines, and scope creep. I also got my first rudimentary taste of level design before going on to study it at UTS.
Only one person has ever beaten it. (And it wasn't anyone on the team.)
